Relating gas dynamics to star formation in the central region of the barred spiral galaxy NGC 613

Abstract The barred spiral galaxy NGC 613 has a star-forming ring in the center, and near-infrared observations have previously shown that star formation activity on eastern western sides of is asymmetric. We examined dynamics physical state molecular gas using high-resolution (∼15 pc) 12CO(1–0), 12CO(3–2), 13CO(1–0) with ALMA. Using dendrogram, we identified 111 clouds bar ring, found virial parameter (αvir) gradually decreases (αvir < 2) toward confluence northern while large > around corresponding side ring. A non-LTE analysis RADEX showed temperature density increase downstream point confluence, whereas they change irregularly side. efficiency (1.7 ± 0.2) × 10−8 yr−1 which substantially higher than (0.9 0.3) for Position–velocity diagrams show relative velocity between ∼70 km s−1 east, it reaches ∼170 west. suggest central region depends strongly
